Jeff Kinney - 2009 National Book Festival

New York Times best-selling author Jeff Kinney appears at the National Book Festival. Speaker Biography: From the early 1990s, when he attended the University of Maryland, Jeff Kinney knew he wanted to be a cartoonist. The campus paper ran his comic strip, called "Igdoof." In 1998, he began to formulate ideas for "Diary of a Wimpy Kid." He published daily installment of the "Diary" online before releasing it as a book, which became a No. 1 New York Times best-seller. He followed that success with two other "Diary" books. The newest in the series is "Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Last Straw" (2009). Jeff lives in Massachusetts.
