A Surrendered Heart (Broadmoor Legacy, Book 3) Overviews

At twenty-one, Amanda Broadmoor had the right to make her own way in life, but her father and mother hardly saw it that way. Women working in the medical field were still frowned upon, and Amanda had been reared to marry and produce heirs, not tend the sick. And especially not those suffering from cholera.

"And Mama can be such an alarmist," Amanda whispered.

At the first report of cholera in Rochester, Amanda's mother had suggested the entire family take refuge at their summer estate on Broadmoor Island in the St. Lawrence River. However, that idea had been immediately vetoed by her father. Father had said his work would not permit him to leave Rochester, and for once, Amanda had agreed with one of his decisions. After devoting so much of her time and energy to medical training at Dr. Carstead's side, she couldn't possibly desert her work--not now, not when she was needed most.

A Surrendered Heart (Broadmoor Legacy, Book 3) CustomerReview

Amanda Broadmoor just never wanted to be a doctor, but if the application is refused medical school, must pay for the support of Dr. Blake Carstead at home for the friendship. But when cholera struck New York and the house is quarantined, the general estimated Amanda Blake Carstead increases in size. If only the cholera were the only threat to the family Broadmoor. Amanda's father fell into financial difficulties and the only way is a loan from the odious EllertJackson. But now that money is gone and Ellert came to gather, the only thing that Jonas can bet his only daughter. Amanda decides to accelerate to save his family from financial ruin and social destruction, even if it means a marriage without love. But how can you leave the man who has confessed his love for them?
This novel has many inputs and outputs of the plot, it will be difficult to take stock of the main plot and characters. This is the third book in the Broadmoor Legacyand if the earlier novels, it is necessary to understand, a Surrendered Heart, I found more than a few places, it would be useful. In particular, the relationship between the cousins. This novel is the story, Amanda is invited, it's time to find their love, and the reader is in their thoughts, needs and interests. However, Sophie is showing a piece of the novel of her married life with Paul, and how to learn to cope as a young mother and dutiful wife. Meanwhile, Fanny is a piece ofAmanda and Jonas financial struggles and finds a new strength in herself as an adult. Sometimes it feels like the subplots and parallel stories too far from the main plot - Amanda the imminent marriage of a man who does not love. Although Fanny is a part of the story or more of Amanda Jonas, neither Fanny nor Sophie's story lines at the end of time absolutely necessary in the story.
The characters are interesting enough. Ellert Jackson as the villain of the storyis a stereotypical character with the typical lines and thoughts of a bad man in a Christian novel. That said, manages to remain a formidable bad and creates the right amount of concern for the interests of Amanda. Sure, I was prepared for the worst when it comes to the end for both Amanda and me as a reader, but was pleasantly surprised with the twists and turns, allowing the writers.
Overall, this is a good read or not, if you read the previous books, series. The novel is sweet and engaging, the characters are assigned, and the emphasis on Amanda and her family is difficult. In general fun.
